We are hiring a Senior Aerodynamic Engineer to work on Unmanned Aircraft Development Project (fixed wing and rotary wing.)
It is a permanent position with our customer based in UAE.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Aerodynamic design, analysis, and optimization of unmanned air vehicles.
• Analysis methods: Low and high-fidelity aerodynamic analysis, including tool development.
• Design optimization: Performing various aircraft optimizations.
• Data compilation: Construct aerodynamic databases from various sources, including CFD, wind tunnel, and empirical models.
• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD): Utilizing and executing CFD analyses for design and database development.
• Wind Tunnel: Contributing to the planning and execution of wind tunnel test campaigns.
• Collaboration: Working with hardware engineers and designers to size and shape aero surfaces that meet Design Requirements.
• Project Management: Taking ownership of tasks while adhering to deadlines and budgets.
Required qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field is required. A master's degree is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in aerodynamic design and optimization within the aerospace industry (preference for 10+ years).
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Bash for process automatization.
• Aerodynamic: Strong understanding of Aerodynamic principles (Navier-Stokes, Reynolds and Laminar and Turbulent Boundary Layers)
• Aerodynamic and CFD methods: Good understanding of Vortex Lattice, Boundary Layer Methods, RANS and turbulence models (Lattice Boltzmann, WMLES and Blade Element Momentum Theory is a plus)
• Optimization methods: Basic understanding of genetic and gradient algorithms
• Aircraft Sizing: Experience with aircraft sizing and configuration trade studies, including aerodynamic design, shaping, and multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO)
• Aircraft Design Phases: Familiarity with Aircraft Design Phases (conceptual, preliminary, and detail)
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards such as Part 23, Part 25, AEP 4671 is a plus.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex aerodynamic issues.
• Team Player: Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and reliability of aerodynamic analysis.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in aerodynamic, CFD or optimization are desirable.
