Job description

As an engineering consultant for Nalys, you will take on a highly engaging, hands-on role within our client's Functional Safety Controls team. Your primary mission will be to design, develop, and rigorously verify safety-critical control algorithms for advanced hybrid transmission systems. You will play a crucial part in the engineering lifecycle by critically reviewing system-level requirements and proposing technical architectures that guarantee maximum robustness, software quality, and safety compliance.

Beyond core development, you will be a key driver for continuous process improvement across the engineering department. You will partner closely with process experts to audit current practices, bridge methodological gaps, and translate theoretical process requirements into practical, daily engineering workflows. This includes upgrading requirements management, traceability, and verification practices to align perfectly with ASPICE and ISO 26262 standards. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the Model-Based Development (MBD) teams on proof-of-concept initiatives to enhance software environments and methodologies. As a technical pillar within the team, you will also provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to your fellow engineers.

Required qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled engineer holding a Master's degree or a PhD in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline. You must bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive software development, with a very strong focus on functional safety and process optimization.

A deep, practical mastery of ISO 26262 principles and the ASPICE framework is mandatory, as you will be responsible for implementing these standards throughout the software development lifecycle. You should possess a solid background in Model-Based Development (MBD) and software quality enhancement. Excellent analytical abilities are required to effectively challenge technical solutions and system requirements. You are recognized for your outstanding communication skills, your methodical approach to problem-solving, and your capacity to lead by example and provide technical support to multidisciplinary teams.
