Job description
You will join our team of experts in technical support. The consultant is expected to bring specialist or expert-level proficiency in application maintenance and general IT support, preferably with experience providing Tier-2 support for business applications, enterprise tools or database administration. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Team Lead.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide day-to-day support and maintenance of applications and tools for the organization
- Perform database administration tasks of MSSQL and open source databases
- Resolve in a timely manner Tier-2 application issues and escalate Tier-3 issues to Designated focal points
- Assist in the evaluation, configuration and installation of new releases in accordance with established configuration management standards
- Assist in applications structural changes required during system upgrades
- Assist in the deployment of tools and in the implementation of processes to assist in operational support
- Assist in responding to application-related queries from end users in remote locations
- Facilitate knowledge transfer to Tier-1 and deliver end-user training sessions on the application functionality.
- Assist in the development and in the updating of software applications related documentation, including technical documentation and system reports, attend operational and other meetings
- Provide standby and on-call 24×7 support, and work in shifts when requested;
- Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period
of time on a part-time or full-time basis upon request from the senior management
Required qualifications
What profile are we looking for this position:
Must-have skills :
- Three to five years of experience in application maintenance and general IT support;
- Good working knowledge of client/server applications in a Windows/Linux environment;
- Good working knowledge of Database Management;
- Very good knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is required.
