Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer to support the development of innovative satellite missions, from early concept definition through design, integration, launch and in-orbit commissioning.
You will act as a key technical contributor at spacecraft level, ensuring consistency across subsystems, managing interfaces and maintaining the technical baseline throughout the programme lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities:
- Contribute to technical planning, including programme schedules, resources and costs.
- Define and maintain the spacecraft system architecture.
- Perform functional analysis, mission analysis and system-level trade-off studies.
- Develop the Concept of Operations, system modes and specification tree.
- Define, decompose and manage system and subsystem requirements.
- Maintain requirements traceability and the engineering database.
- Define and control interfaces between spacecraft subsystems, software and the Ground Segment.
- Consolidate and monitor system-level technical budgets and margins.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across areas such as avionics, power, AOCS/GNC, propulsion, thermal, mechanical and software.
- Lead technical assessments and support architecture and design decisions.
- Manage the system technical baseline and associated change-control activities.
- Contribute to technical risk and opportunity management.
- Define the system verification, validation and development strategy.
- Support Product Assurance activities with relevant technical input.
- Prepare and maintain system engineering documentation.
- Follow the spacecraft implementation and AIV/AIT phases.
- Support launch preparation, early operations and in-orbit commissioning.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of company-wide systems engineering processes.
- Interface with customers, suppliers and institutional stakeholders.
Required qualifications
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline.
- At least eight years of experience in the spacecraft or satellite industry.
- Proven experience in spacecraft-level systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of requirements decomposition, interface management and technical baseline control.
- Experience conducting trade-off studies and developing spacecraft sizing or performance budgets.
- Good understanding of the complete space programme lifecycle, from early concept and proposal activities through design, development, integration, testing and delivery.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ability to manage several critical technical workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, organisational and technical communication skills.
- Professional fluency in English.
