Job Description
Our client is a global leader in metal flow engineering, providing a full range of engineering services and solutions to its customers worldwide, principally serving the steel and foundry industries. The mechatronic department designs robotic solution for continuous casting application. In this department you will be in charge of conception, design testing and commissioning of robotic equipment.
Your role:
Understand the whole picture of a robot solution integration to:
- Define/validate equipment and component location and interaction
- Design installation drawing
- Define/validate energy supply and needs
- Define/validate interaction with human operator (ergonomics, safety, operator needs)
- Based on previous design, and for a direct (e.g gripper) or indirect robotic (e.g LS rack) product, design mechanical solution that fits to the specification
- Define and design detailed concept (clean 3D model, manufacturing drawing, assembly drawing)
- Check 3D model, manufacturing and assembly drawing coming from other team members
- Select and define required sensor
Define and design (together with suppliers if necessary) following media layout:
- Hydraulic diagram, air diagram and other media layout (argon, air, oxygen, other)
- Understand and check components integration together with robot movement and placement, using robot simulation software (Kuka sim layout)
- Participate to the FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) together with other team members
- Supervise a RCT component shop test in workshop, being a support to Operations team on: layout drawing and description, shop test plan definition together with RCT Lab team and report conclusion.
Provide support to manufacturer if necessary (question, rework)
Provide following documentation (or able to check):
- Calculation notes,
- User manual per equipment and per project,
- Control sheet per equipment,
- Maintenance sheet per equipment,
Be a mentor for newly hired mechanical engineer or designer:
- Be a support for different software (Creo, Kuka Sim layout, AutoCAD)
- Able to explain in detail how the Engineering team works (standard, procedure, people, communication)
Able to conduct general "mechanical administrative task"
- Generate commercial item datasheet (Axapta)
- Be a support to purchase team if necessary (technical question, missing drawing on datasheet, etc)
- Check items delivery date in system (Qube or SAP)
Required qualifications
Master's degree in mechanical Engineering.
Experience in robotics and mechatronics projects is preferred.
Experience in heavy industry environment with design responsibilities is an asset.
Excellent Solidworks parametric knowledge (design, simulation and drawing)
Strong knowledge of PDMLink
Good Draft Site knowledge
Kuka software (simulation and Kuka load)
Hands on capabilities
Pneumatic basic knowledge (engineering, components, diagram)
Hydraulic basic knowledge (engineering, components, diagram)
Good mechanical engineering knowledge
Skills :
