ARENGY, a Technical Consultancy and Recruitment Services company based in the UAE, is looking for a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in CNC automation with deep expertise in Flexible Manufacturing Systems
The successful candidate will leading the design, integration, optimization, and lifecycle support of advanced CNC automation systems, enabling lights-out manufacturing, high-mix low-volume (HMLV) production, and data-driven operations.
Job Description
- Engineer and optimize advanced CNC manufacturing processes, covering multi-axis machining, turning, milling, EDM, grinding, tapping, and deburring applications.
- Select and optimize cutting tools, machining parameters, and process strategies for challenging materials such as titanium, Inconel, steel, and aluminum, with a strong focus on tool life and autonomous production.
- Translate complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements into robust machining, datum, and inspection strategies.
- Develop repeatable workholding concepts, including modular and zero-point fixturing, suitable for flexible and high-mix manufacturing environments.
- Define and engineer Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) solutions, optimizing machine utilization, pallet configuration, material flow, buffering, capacity, and overall throughput.
- Establish connectivity between CNC equipment, controllers, FMS, DNC, and NC program management systems, ensuring reliable exchange of production and tooling data.
- Implement automated probing and in-process measurement to support setup verification, tool monitoring, automatic compensation, and closed-loop machining.
- Configure Manufacturing Management Software (MMS) for production planning, job sequencing, resource allocation, tool management, and real-time shop-floor visibility.
- Integrate automated material-handling technologies, including pallet storage, AGVs, RGVs, and robotic solutions, to minimize manual intervention and improve workflow efficiency.
- Develop robust unattended machining strategies, maximizing process stability, repeatability, capability, and equipment availability.
- Drive system integration, commissioning, FAT/SAT, ramp-up, and troubleshooting, coordinating CNC, automation, and software activities.
- Act as a technical interface with customers, suppliers, and internal engineering teams, contributing to solution definition, technical reviews, capacity planning, and business-case evaluation.
Required qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
12+ years of hands-on experience in CNC manufacturing, machining technologies, and industrial automation.
Solid background in FMS, palletized production systems, and automated manufacturing environments.
Comprehensive knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, workholding, and process optimization.
Demonstrated ability to integrate machining equipment with automated production and material-handling systems.
Working knowledge of CNC control platforms and industrial communication standards, including Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain.
