ARENGY, a Technical Consultancy and Recruitment Services company based in the UAE, is looking for an experienced Robotics Engineer for a major industrial project in the aerospace and defense sector.
The successful candidate will support the deployment of advanced robotic systems for fully autonomous assembly and testing lines, integrating robotics, IIoT, and Digital Twin technologies, as well as fleet-based intralogistics.
Job Description
- Design and implement advanced robotic automation solutions for lights-out assembly and testing, including multi-robot cells and flexible automation architectures.
- Program and optimize robots and cobots, focusing on motion planning, cycle time reduction, collision avoidance, and offline programming.
- Integrate robotic systems with automated manufacturing processes, including precision fastening, dispensing, pressing/forming, welding, palletizing/de-palletizing, CNC loading/unloading, and automated part handling.
- Design and deploy autonomous intralogistics solutions using AMRs, AGVs, and RGVs for automated material transportation and production flow.
- Develop and manage fleet control systems, including task scheduling, traffic management, route optimization, and integration with production lines, robotic cells, ASRS, MES, and WMS.
- Implement Poka-Yoke, machine vision, and inspection systems for error-proofing, part identification, positioning, alignment, and quality control, with expertise in 2D, 3D, and line-scan vision.
- Enable IIoT connectivity and real-time data exchange between robots, equipment, production systems, MES, and WMS platforms.
- Develop and maintain Digital Twin / Process Twin models to simulate and optimize robot reachability, cycle times, production flows, and line performance.
- Lead robotic cell commissioning, including FAT, SAT, validation, production ramp-up, and system handover.
- Optimize cycle time, throughput, line balancing, and OEE, using advanced motion strategies, system tuning, and data-driven analysis.
- Implement traceability, automatic recovery, and fail-safe strategies to support reliable lights-out operation, including process parameter monitoring and fault recovery.
- Support predictive maintenance and condition monitoring, including diagnostics, root cause analysis, and spare parts planning.
- Ensure compliance with industrial safety and ergonomic standards in collaborative and hybrid robotic environments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, using production data and system diagnostics to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of professional experience in industrial robotics and automation in high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Extensive hands-on expertise with industrial robotic platforms such as KUKA, ABB, and FANUC, including robot programming, configuration, and optimization.
- Solid track record in the integration of AMR, AGV, and RGV solutions within automated manufacturing and intralogistics environments.
- Practical knowledge of integrating robots into automated assembly processes, including precision tightening, dispensing, pressing/forming, welding, and material handling.
- Strong understanding of robot kinematics, motion control, trajectory planning, and path optimization.
- Experience with industrial machine vision, sensors, and vision-guided robotic applications.
- Familiarity with IIoT technologies and industrial communication protocols, including OPC UA, PROFINET, and EtherNet/IP.
- Demonstrated ability to improve cycle times, production throughput, line balancing, and OEE through automation and process optimization.
- Proven experience in robotic system commissioning, troubleshooting, debugging, and production ramp-up/support.
