Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a Test Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team working on the development and validation of complex embedded electronic systems in a highly regulated environment.
You will be responsible for defining and implementing comprehensive test strategies covering the different levels of the system, from individual components to complete system validation. You will work closely with hardware, embedded software, FPGA, and quality teams to ensure that products meet functional, performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
This is an opportunity to contribute to technically challenging projects where test automation, embedded electronics, and rigorous validation processes are key to delivering high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze system architectures involving microcontrollers, FPGAs, analog and digital electronics, and embedded software.
Derive appropriate test strategies from system, functional, and safety requirements.
Define and document test plans and test specifications covering unit, integration, and system-level testing.
Develop and maintain automated test environments, including Python/pytest-based test frameworks and hardware interfaces.
Design and implement automated test scripts for functional, performance, regression, and system validation.
Develop and maintain test benches and interfaces with electronic equipment and measurement instruments.
Execute test campaigns, analyze results, identify anomalies, and provide detailed test reports.
Support root-cause analysis and troubleshooting in collaboration with hardware, firmware, FPGA, and system engineers.
Ensure appropriate requirements traceability and test coverage throughout the development lifecycle.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI or Jenkins.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
Ensure testing activities comply with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Required qualifications
Profile
Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
Experience in embedded systems testing, verification, or validation.
Good understanding of embedded electronics, including microcontrollers, FPGAs, analog/digital interfaces, and communication protocols.
Hands-on experience with protocols such as SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet, or equivalent.
Strong programming skills in Python; experience with pytest is a strong advantage.
Experience developing test benches and automated validation environments.
Familiarity with measurement and debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and similar equipment.
Experience with Git and software development workflows.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools, such as GitLab CI or Jenkins.
Experience with requirements-based testing, verification, validation, and traceability.
Experience with LabVIEW is considered a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and detail-oriented approach.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Good communication skills and the ability to document technical results clearly.
Nice to Have
Previous experience working on medical devices or other highly regulated products.
Knowledge of standards such as ISO 13485, IEC 60601, IEC 62304, or ISO 14971.
Knowledge of functional safety and standards such as IEC 61508.
Experience with design controls, V&V processes, risk management, and regulatory documentation.
Experience working with FPGA-based systems.
Experience developing automated hardware-in-the-loop or system-level test environments.
