We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer (Systems) to join a leading international engineering and technology organization delivering large-scale infrastructure and mobility projects in the UAE.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling integrated project schedules, ensuring project milestones are achieved while proactively identifying risks, delays, and recovery opportunities. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Description
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prepare baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and project execution plans.
- Monitor project progress against approved baselines and identify schedule variances.
- Produce weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
- Perform critical path analysis, schedule impact analysis, and forecast project completion dates.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure accurate planning information.
- Monitor productivity, earned value, and progress measurement against planned targets.
- Support risk assessments and develop recovery plans to mitigate schedule delays.
- Participate in progress review meetings with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of extension of time (EOT) claims and schedule-related contractual submissions.
- Ensure planning activities comply with project procedures and organizational standards.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6-7 years of planning experience on large-scale engineering or systems integration projects.
- Strong expertise in Primavera P6 is mandatory.
- Solid understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, and planning best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering environments.
- Familiarity with EPC, turnkey, or systems integration projects.
- Understanding of contractual planning principles and schedule risk management.
