Job Description
We are looking for an AWS Data Movement Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and highly available data movement and storage solutions. The role focuses on file and object storage technologies, enabling reliable data transfer and storage services across enterprise and cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on AWS.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable data movement solutions.
- Configure and manage SMB (CIFS) and NFS file storage environments.
- Develop and support storage services using Amazon S3 and other AWS storage technologies.
- Manage storage performance, availability, and reliability across cloud and enterprise environments.
- Configure storage security, access controls, encryption, and lifecycle policies.
- Troubleshoot storage, networking, and data transfer issues.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting and infrastructure automation tools.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to deliver reliable storage solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Support continuous improvements in storage architecture, security, and operational efficiency.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience as a Storage Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with SMB (CIFS) and NFS administration.
- Experience working with Amazon S3, including buckets, lifecycle policies, encryption, and access management.
- Understanding of AWS IAM, security best practices, and cloud storage concepts.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing storage performance.
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Amazon EFS, FSx, EBS, or AWS Storage Gateway.
- Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp, Dell EMC, Isilon, or Pure Storage.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments.
- AWS or storage-related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator).
