Le poste
The roleAs Junior Accountant, you'll be a key part of our day-to-day finance operation in Mauritius. You'll own the recurring accounting work that keeps the business running and report directly to our Senior Accountant in Belgium, who'll be your mentor and main point of contact. Expect a hands-on role with real ownership, room to grow, and a front-row seat to how an international group manages its finances.
What you'll do
- Reconciliations - bank, supplier and customer accounts kept clean and up to date
- Accounts payable - process and book supplier bills, prepare payments
- Accounts receivable - issue customer invoices and follow up where needed
- Day-to-day bookkeeping - accurate entries and tidy records, ready for monthly close
- Support the close - help our Belgian Finance team with month-end and reporting
- Flag and fix - spot inconsistencies early and bring solutions, not just problems
Profil recherché
What you bring
- 2-5 years' experience in a comparable accounting role
- Solid grasp of basic accounting, comfortable with reconciliations, supplier bills and customer invoices
- Proactive and solution-oriented - you take initiative and own your work
- Accurate, organized and reliable, with a sharp eye for detail
- Fluent English AND French ; you'll work daily with our team in Belgium and and the reporting line is a French speaker
- Comfortable working independently and across time zones and cultures
- Significant experience with two different accounting systems (since you will need to adapt to the Belgian accounting system)
Nice to have
- Experience with Belgian GAAP - a real plus
