Job Description
We are looking for a Scientific Data & Informatics Lead to drive the integration of scientific data and digital solutions across pharmaceutical Discovery and Development environments. This role will act as a bridge between R&D and IT, ensuring that scientific data, applications, and workflows are effectively connected, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead scientific data and informatics initiatives across Discovery and Development domains.
- Collaborate with R&D, Data Science, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, and Genomics teams to understand business needs and translate them into technology solutions.
- Drive the integration of structured and unstructured scientific data into the existing application landscape.
- Support the adoption of FAIR data principles and best practices for scientific data management.
- Ensure business continuity and operational effectiveness of scientific software platforms and data services.
- Partner with technical SMEs to design scalable and sustainable informatics solutions.
- Lead project planning, prioritization, and execution across multiple scientific data initiatives.
- Establish and promote repeatable processes, governance standards, and operational best practices.
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and provide strategic guidance on scientific IT investments and roadmap activities.
- Support continuous improvement of scientific workflows, data accessibility, and research productivity.
Required qualifications
- Strong experience with scientific software and data platforms within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience supporting Discovery Research, Drug Development, Data Science, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, or Genomics functions.
- Deep understanding of scientific informatics, scientific data management, and FAIR data principles.
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of chemical and biological data management.
- Experience working with scientific workflow management tools and research data ecosystems.
- Proven ability to bridge business and technology teams, particularly across R&D and IT organizations.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and scientific audiences.
Nice to Have
- Background in Chemistry, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related scientific disciplines.
- Experience integrating scientific applications and enterprise platforms.
- Knowledge of laboratory informatics, research data platforms, and cloud-based scientific environments.
- Experience leading global or cross-functional scientific technology initiatives.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and scientific data standards.
