Job Description
Join a a multidisciplinary team of experts in mechanics, optics, and processes that focuses on research and development of breakthrough technologies in the field of fiber optic connectivity for data centre applications.
Your role:
Evaluation and improvement of advanced optical fiber termination processes
Validation of precision measurement equipment
Functional product testing
Design of new components and assemblies; documentation to support release of new and modified products
Product development, platforming, and continuous improvement
Working with cross-functional teams to innovate, design, and bring new products to market
Design & test of fiber optic connectors, cable assemblies, and closures
Delivering technical improvements to existing products, processes, and services
Required qualifications
Master or PhD in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, photonics engineering, electromechanical engineering, nanotechnology, or physics
Strong analytical skills with aptitude for statistical analysis and data processing
Ability to perform hands-on engineering testing in a lab environment
3+ years of engineering and product development experience
Ability to travel internationally Commscope
Assets :
Knowledge of fiber optics or photonics applications
Familiarity with design of experiments
Understanding of rapid prototyping techniques
Knowledge of fiber, power and hybrid cable standards and manufacturing methods
Familiarity with international standards for FTTA applications
