Job Description
We are looking for an experienced AWS Solutions Architect for a project for our client from the EdTech industry. If you want to have a real impact on shaping modern cloud architectures and enjoy combining strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving, this role is for you. Apply and join a team where your experience truly makes a difference!
Responsibilities:
- Working with client stakeholders, including C-level executives, to understand business needs and define cloud transformation goals
- Designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS architectures (ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, EventBridge, VPC)
- Creating target architectures and migration or modernization roadmaps for legacy systems (monolith to cloud-native or hybrid)
- Identifying technical and operational risks and defining mitigation strategies
- Designing and reviewing application architectures, including monoliths, microservices, REST APIs, event-driven systems, authentication, authorization, and service-to-service communication
- Supporting teams in designing APIs, data flows, and integration patterns between applications and cloud services
- Advising on architectural trade-offs (monolith vs microservices, synchronous vs asynchronous, serverless vs containerized)
- Supporting development and operations teams in debugging complex production issues
- Analyzing and correlating application logs, cloud infrastructure logs and metrics, and distributed traces
- Setting up and improving logging, monitoring, and observability across the application and cloud layers
- Helping teams identify root causes of performance, stability, and scalability issues
- Implementing and maintaining AWS infrastructure (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda)
- Designing and improving CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Bitbucket Pipelines)
- Automating environments using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK)
- Supporting application and environment migrations to AWS
- Ensuring security best practices across infrastructure and applications (IAM, network security, secrets management)
- Working with development teams to meet compliance and security standards (e.g. ISO, SOC-like, or banking-grade frameworks)
- Building high-availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies
- Implementing and improving monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
- Estimating cloud costs and contributing to financial modeling and pricing discussions
- Continuously optimizing AWS costs and resource utilization
- Advising teams on scalable, maintainable, and cost-efficient designs
Required qualifications
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS in production environments
- Strong experience in designing and operating cloud-based applications, not just infrastructure
- Solid background in application development or architecture (PHP, Java, or similar technologies)
- Proven experience working with REST APIs, monolithic and microservice architectures, and event-driven systems
- Hands-on experience in debugging applications running in cloud environments
- Strong knowledge of logging, monitoring, and observability (CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS and/or EKS)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficient level of English
Nice to have:
- Experience in correlating application logs with cloud infrastructure metrics to troubleshoot production issues
- Experience with distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, X-Ray)
- Experience working in regulated or high-availability environments
- Knowledge of performance optimization at both the application and infrastructure level
- Additional AWS or DevOps certifications (DevOps Engineer, Security, SysOps, Networking)
Benefits
- B2B contract
- 100% remote work
- A unique and engaging project in the EdTech space
