We are seeking an experienced Lead Technician - Heavy Equipment to supervise a team of technicians focused on maintenance and component rebuild of Caterpillar equipment at a mining site in West Africa. The position is workshop-based, with strong hands-on involvement and a leadership role in equipment reliability. 🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of workshop maintenance technicians - Plan and control maintenance and component rebuild activities - Provide hands-on technical support for major breakdowns - Ensure repair quality and compliance with OEM procedures - Maximize equipment availability and reliability - Enforce strict HSE standards in workshop and site activities - Train and mentor local technicians - Monitor spare parts usage and critical inventory - Prepare maintenance and technical reports - Coordinate closely with operations and maintenance planning teams
- 10+ years experience in heavy equipment maintenance - Strong Caterpillar background (ADT and large excavators preferred) - Advanced skills in mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine systems - Prior experience as Lead Technician / Team Leader / Supervisor - Mining or heavy workshop environment experience - Strong HSE mindset - Autonomous, hands-on and team-oriented - Proficient with CAT diagnostic tools (ET, SIS or equivalent)

- Technical qualification in heavy equipment or mechanical maintenance - French is a plus - Technical English is required
