We are hiring a Document Control Manager to lead document control activities for a large-scale, highly regulated transportation project in Dubai.
The role involves managing documentation across complex system-level scopes (e.g., signaling, telecommunications, AFC, control systems) within a structured, safety-critical environment where strict workflows, traceability, and client compliance are essential.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Document Controllers (allocation, training, performance)
- Own and enforce document control procedures, workflows, and standards
- Oversee full document lifecycle: registration, distribution, tracking, and archiving
- Ensure strict version control and full traceability of all revisions and approvals
- Manage document review cycles across engineering, QA/QC, contractors, and client teams
- Act as the main POC for all document control matters
- Oversee Aconex and EDMS platforms, ensuring structured and accurate data management
- Handle technical documentation including drawings, interface documents, test procedures, and O&M manuals
- Ensure alignment with system-level documentation requirements (not purely civil works)
- Conduct audits and report on submissions, approvals, and outstanding items
Required qualifications
Requirements
- 8–12+ years in document control within large-scale infrastructure or engineering projects
- Proven experience in a managerial or lead role
- Strong background in railway/metro or similar system-driven environments
- Experience working with system integrators/providers or directly with operators/authorities
- Aconex is mandatory, with strong EDMS/SharePoint knowledge
- Strong understanding of document lifecycle, version control, and complex approval workflows
