Job Description
Are you ready to lead the charge in digital transformation and smart manufacturing? We are looking for an Automation Lead SME to drive Operational Technology (OT) solutions for major engineering projects at a leading biopharma company. This pivotal role focuses on Industry 4.0 innovations, aligning with our global automation strategy, and shaping the future of manufacturing.
Key Accountabilities
- Define OT scope within global engineering projects, ensuring alignment with site and project partners.
- Formulate and secure approval for OT strategies; provide technical leadership from concept through detailed design and equipment selection.
- Communicate site and project requirements to vendors, ensuring systems meet global automation standards.
- Drive digital transformation through Industry 4.0 technologies to establish Smart Factories and Autonomous Manufacturing.
- Collaborate with Global IT/OT teams to develop technology standards and strategies.
- Work with local and international engineering teams to deliver complex projects efficiently.
- Build strong partnerships with Project Managers, Technical Managers, Work Package Owners, Manufacturing Operations, Quality teams, and IT to deliver design intent and meet quality standards.
Required qualifications
- Extensive experience delivering GMP Process Control Systems (PCS) in pharmaceutical/biotech projects (DCS, SCADA, PLCs) including specification, procurement, installation, start-up, and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of Biotech and API manufacturing processes; drug product automation (vial filling and packaging) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of post-project operational requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities.
- Understanding of secure integration of PCS with IT architectures, MES, process historians, recipe data, data analytics platforms, and Process Analytical Technology (PAT).
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of current GMP regulations and regulatory expectations.
- Experience with OT cybersecurity, electronic batch records (EBR), data modeling, laboratory automation, and warehouse automation.
