Job Description
We are hiring a Procurement Specialist to work on Autonomous Vehicle Systems project in the UAE.
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing and purchasing components, systems, and materials required for the assembly of low-volume, high-technology autonomous industrial and defense vehicles. The role ensures that all procured items meet technical, quality, and delivery standards while optimizing cost and fostering strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and electronic components used in autonomous vehicle systems.
- Local Procurement Focus: Prioritize and develop local UAE or regional suppliers that can meet engineering and quality specifications.
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, R&D, and production teams to translate Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical drawings into sourcing requirements.
- Supplier Management: Evaluate supplier capabilities, negotiate contracts and pricing, and monitor ongoing performance (quality, cost, delivery).
- Procurement Planning: Support production planning by maintaining accurate lead times, stock levels, and delivery schedules aligned with low-volume manufacturing.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, export control laws, and applicable defense or dual-use regulations.
- Cost Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and supply chain resilience through alternative sourcing and value engineering.
- ERP/Systems: Maintain accurate procurement data and supplier records in ERP or MRP systems.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5–7 years of procurement experience in automotive, defense, robotics, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, mechanical/electronic components, and supplier qualification processes.
- Proven ability to work in low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with UAE procurement regulations and local supplier market is a strong advantage.
- Experience with ERP systems.
