Job Description
We are looking for an Aerostructure CAR-145 Certifying Staff to work on Engine Nacelle Components in a Component Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO).
This is a permanent full time job with our customer based in Dubai.
Position Summary:
Our client, a leading GCAA CAR-145 approved MRO organization, is looking for a highly skilled Category C Certifying Staff to join their Engine Nacelle Components Workshop. This role is critical in ensuring the airworthiness of nacelle components, including those repaired internally and by subcontractors.
The ideal candidate will bring deep nacelle expertise, proven experience as certifying staff, and a rigorous, detail-oriented approach to reviewing and certifying complex repair dossiers.
Key Responsibilities:
Component Certification & Release
- Inspect, verify, and certify the repair, overhaul, and assembly of nacelle components in compliance with GCAA CAR-145, OEM CMMs, and company MOE.
- Issue CRS / GCAA Form 1 (or equivalent) after ensuring full conformity and airworthiness.
- Review and approve documentation for subcontracted repairs, ensuring compliance before release to service.
Quality Control & Problem Detection
- Examine complex repair dossiers with a critical eye to detect errors, inconsistencies, or non-conformities.
- Ensure full traceability of parts, materials, and tooling used in internal and outsourced repairs.
- Support root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Regulatory & Process Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere strictly to CAR-145 requirements, MOE procedures, and human factors principles.
- Participate in internal audits, GCAA inspections, and customer quality reviews.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure readiness for regulatory oversight at all times.
Technical Expertise & Mentorship
- Serve as the technical reference point for nacelle component maintenance.
- Support engineering and planning teams in resolving technical queries.
- Mentor technicians and inspectors, promoting a culture of quality and safety.
Required qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
Mandatory Requirements:
- Category C AML (GCAA CAR-66 or foreign AML accepted – e.g., EASA Part-66, FAA A&P) with eligibility for GCAA acceptance and company authorization.
- Proven experience as certifying staff, including prior responsibility for component release to service.
- Extensive hands-on expertise with engine nacelle components (fan cowls, thrust reversers, inlets, exhaust systems) .
- Strong ability to work with complex repair documentation and identify compliance issues or discrepancies.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience reviewing and approving subcontracted repair documentation.
- Knowledge of composite repair methods and NDT inspection techniques.
- Exceptional precision, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.
Working Conditions:
- Workshop-based position within a GCAA-approved MRO facility.
- Standard day shifts with possible overtime based on operational demand.
- Must be eligible for UAE residency visa, security pass, and GCAA acceptance.
