Job Description
As Project & Test Engineer, you will lead a test lab in a climatic chamber, a high-tech facility where wind turbine components and other applications are validated under extreme environmental conditions. You will manage test campaigns from start to finish, ensure smooth lab operations, and play a key role in multidisciplinary R&D projects that contribute to the energy transition and beyond.
Your Role
- Lead and manage climatic testing and validation projects in the lab, from preparation to execution and reporting.
- Design and coordinate complex electromechanical test campaigns in collaboration with customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of the climatic chamber, ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency.
- Work hands-on with prototypes, including instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on additional test projects (e.g., corrosion testing, vehicle testing, etc.).
- Take project ownership of large-scale infrastructure developments, such as the expansion of the test lab.
- Actively contribute to applied R&D projects related to wind energy, energy transmission, hydrogen, e-fuels, and other energy transition technologies.
- Act as the lab's safety officer and ensure compliance with procedures.
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electromechanical testing/validation.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and measurement setups (sensors, data acquisition systems).
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Hands-on and pragmatic, with a problem-solving mindset.
- Technically insightful, with a commercial and customer-oriented approach.
- Good level of Dutch is required with an excellent command of English.
- Willing to travel occasionally within Belgium and abroad to meet international customers.
