Job Description
As a Facilities Project Engineer at our client's site, you will be responsible for managing a range of construction and technical infrastructure projects. You will oversee each project from initial planning through to successful completion, with a strong focus on technical execution. This role requires full ownership of your projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead construction and technical infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.
- Planning & Coordination: Ensure seamless coordination of all project components, including timelines, resources, and stakeholders.
- Quality, Cost & Deadline Control: Monitor and manage project performance to meet quality standards, stay within budget, and adhere to deadlines.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with engineering firms, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Needs Assessment: Analyze the requirements of internal stakeholders and assess technical solutions for feasibility, scheduling, and cost-effectiveness.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, evaluate supplier proposals, and provide guidance on contract decisions.
- Reporting & Communication: Deliver regular progress updates to the OpEx Manager and provide strategic input to senior management.
- Project Ownership: Take full accountability for the success of assigned projects.
Additional Responsibilities
- Technical Oversight: Supervise the operation and maintenance of critical systems, including HVAC, electrical, compressed air, data infrastructure, access control, and fire safety systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with applicable legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Problem Solving & Optimization: Identify technical issues and implement effective solutions to enhance performance and reliability.
- Sustainability & Efficiency: Advise on energy-efficient practices and sustainable technologies to support long-term operational goals.
Required qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in drafting technical assignments, evaluating contractor bids, and managing external partners.
- Technical Risk Assessment: Solid understanding of engineering techniques and the ability to assess and mitigate risks during project execution.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a high degree of adaptability, analytical thinking, assertiveness, and a results-driven mindset.
- Safety & Compliance Focus: Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance in all project phases.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline such as Electromechanics, Facility Management, Construction Engineering, or Industrial Engineering—or equivalent practical experience.
Technical Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical infrastructure, compressed air, data networks, access control, and fire protection systems (e.g., sprinklers).
- Analytical and proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
- Highly detail-oriented, quality-focused, and capable of performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
