Job Description
Our client is a fast-growing technology company based in Brussels, specialized in digital railway systems. Operating in an international environment, the company delivers high value-added projects and works in close collaboration with major European industrial players in the rail sector.
Role
As a Technical Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be at the heart of the sales cycle, providing the technical expertise required to transform customer needs into optimized railway solutions. You will be involved from the early phases of projects to ensure the technical feasibility, compliance, and added value of bids.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse customer needs and define appropriate technical solutions
Contribute to bids and proposals, including:
System architecture
Compliance and technical requirements
Software and hardware Bill of Materials (BOM)
Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations of complex solutions
Provide pre-sales support related to system integration, performance, and interoperability
Coordinate closely with product management, R&D, and delivery teams
Conduct technology monitoring and competitive intelligence in the digital rail domain
Capitalise and share technical knowledge (Q&A, internal and customer training sessions)
Required qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent technical background
Minimum 5 years of experience in technical pre-sales within the railway sector
Strong knowledge of railway signalling systems and digital technologies
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts
Comfortable with writing structured and detailed technical proposals
Fluent in English (mandatory); other European languages such as French or German are a strong asset
Willingness to travel occasionally to meet customers and attend professional events
